Malaysia had tightened requirement of RFID

It is reported that the Malaysian Telecommunications and Telecommunications Authority (hereinafter referred to as MCMC) has repeatedly received news that the RFID frequency band causes interference to telecommunications and communication networks. In response to this situation, MCMC issued a statement on January 8, 2020, requesting certification of RFID equipment to strengthen the control of the frequency band, and it will take effect today.

The main contents are as follows:

1. The RFID frequency band must strictly implement the existing technical standard 'MCMC MTSFB TC T007'. The following is a summary of the RFID frequency band requirements:

2. The applicant should set the RFID product as the default frequency band in Malaysia (as above), and the test report should also reflect the range of use of its frequency band.

3. RFID products need to describe their frequency band usage range in product specifications and manuals. When applying for certification, MCMC officials will step up control of this part. (strict)

4. When applying for certification, you need to submit an additional RFID self-declaration statement. (Additional requirements)

In addition, regarding the testing requirements of RFID, MCMC will subsequently supplement the declaration and confirm the final details.
