The new inspection standards CNS 15598-1 (109 edition) and CNS 15936 (105 edition) are effective from the date of announcement.

The announcement revised the certification procedures for 53 commodities, and added earphone products to the BSMI subject inspection items; this means that BSMI has officially entered a new stage of certification with the Multimedia Equipment (MME) standard.

For Registration of Product Certification (R) & Type Approved Batch Inspection (T), more detailed rules for the transition period of the original inspection products (Q3~7), as follows:

Q3: For new applications, will BSMI accept them if they are submitted in accordance with the old standards on 2023/12/31？

A: If the submission is completed before 2023/12/31 (ie: the online application process is over), the test data of the old standard will be accepted and the old standard certificate will be issued.

Q4:  For the old standard certificate within the validity period, can the standard test still be submitted under the following conditions?

       1. Report a case that needs to be re-tested, such as the motherboard/power board/panel?

       2. Cases where additional series models need to be re-tested?

A:   1. To report the verification case of the mainboard/power board, etc., the test can still be done.

       2. For series cases with additional series models, the test can still be done.

Q5:  The certificate is valid until 2024/1/1. Can the extended certificate continue to use the old standard without testing?

A:  Yes, you can complete the submission before 2023/12/31.

Q6:  After the certificate is valid after 1/1/2024, does the extended certificate have to be re-tested according to the new standard?

A:  For applications submitted before 2023/12/31, the application extension can still be standard without re-testing.

     For submissions after 2024/01/01, they need to be re-tested according to the new standards.

Q7:  The certificate has been extended once and will expire before 2023/12/31. Can the standard still be expired in this case? Re-apply?

A:  If you can complete the submission before 2023/12/31, you can still apply for a new application after the expiration of the application period, and use the original technical data.
