A notification for NMTCTE (Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment) Phase-II was launched by TEC on 23th Jun 2020, and applications for testing and certification of those telecom equipment under phase-II should be acceptable from 25th June 2020. For sale, import or use of these telecom equipment in India, certification become mandatory form 1st Oct 2020.

Under GCS, test report required to submit should be from any designated CAB or recognized CAB of MRA partner country. As a relaxation to MTCTE procedure, test reports from labs accredited by ILAC signatories is acceptable up to 30th Sept 2020, except for Safety and EMC’s test report. Additionally, during this period, exemption from submission of test reports against few parameters is available, and provisional certificated would be issued with a validation of 2 years.
