On April 1, 2020, MeitY of India issued a notification on the implementation of the fourth batch of BIS compulsory product catalogue, adding 12 type of products under CRS.

Firstly, this notice will effected on 1 October 2020, 6 months after the publication of this order, and products in the mandatory catalogue will not be available for sale/export without BIS approval.

Secondly, the customs will provide three months transition period after October 1, 2020, for these products under the compulsory catalogue, this transition period will be given to the manufacturers or India Laisse office or brand to affix the label. Products will be rejected to pass through India custom after January 1,2021. 

The new products differing from the previous product scope expand the following products:

◆ Adding wire Keyboard (Previous product scope: Wireless keyboard)

◆ MFD are basically printers with additional Fax, scan, photocopy function are covered under the category of Printers/Plotters notified vide Gazette Notification dated 3rd October,2012.

   The other provision of the aforesaid Gazette Notification dated 3rd October,2012 would apply as before.

◆ All of the Electronic Musical System will be covered (Previous product scope: electrical Electronic Musical System with input power not less than 200 Watts)

◆ Standalone SMPS will be covered (output 48 max) (Previous product scope: only for detachable standalone SMPS.)

◆ Other than Plasma/LCD/LED television (with Audio, Video function etc.) will be covered (Previous product scope: only for Plasma/LCD/LED television.)

Beyond above products, Please refer to the CRS in the Phase I to III products and this Phase IV adding list. Currently, the laboratory is in the process of obtaining the test qualification from BIS, hopeful it is expected to complete by the end of this month.
