The CE Wi-Fi 5G standard ETSI EN 301 893 has gone through over 50 versions of the draft standard (not publicly available, only visible to members) from 2017 to 2023. On November 16, 2023, ETSI finally released the draft standard Draft ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.0 (2023-11)!

Compared to ETSI EN 301 893 V2.1.1 (2017-05), the key updates for Draft ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.0 (2023-11) include:

● Added technical requirements and methods of measurement for the Wi-Fi 5G Band 4 (5725-5850 MHz) frequency band, including country determination capability;

● Modified the limit values for some testing items, such as OBW, Transmitter unwanted emissions, Mask, Adaptivity, etc;

● Added receiver adjacent channel selectivity testing item;

● Modified the energy detection threshold calculation formula (without considering antenna gain) of Adaptivity and removed self declaration.

To learn more about the differences between Draft ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.0 (2023-11) and ETSI EN 301 893 V2.1.1 (2017-05), you can refer to the news released by BTL on October 18, 2023. Because the content of the Draft ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.0 (2023-11) standard is basically the same as that of Draft ETSI EN 301 893 V2.1.52, only a partial modification of the document.

Draft ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.0 (2023-11) is currently in the Public Enquiry and Vote phase, from November 17, 2023 to February 15, 2024. It is expected that ETSI will update the official version of V2.2.1 after February 15, 2024. Stay tuned~
