What projects are RF emission indicators being implemented?

First, understand the deployment architecture of 5G network, defining the two options of non stand-alone (NSA) and stand-alone (SA).

5G stand-alone (SA) adopts the end-to-end 5G network architecture, and adopts 5G related standards from the terminals and new wireless ports to the core network. It supports all kinds of 5G interfaces, realizes all functions of 5G, and provides 5G services. 5G stand-alone deployment mode (SA) is the ultimate target deployment scheme of 5G.

5G non- stand-alone networking (NSA) refers to the deployment of 5G networks using existing 4G infrastructure. The 5G carrier, based on the NSA architecture, carries only user data, and its control signaling is still transmitted over the 4G network.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued 5G commercial licenses to China telecom, China mobile, China unicom and China broadcasting and television since 2019.06

The 5G bands used are n41,n78 and n79 respectively

Examples of specific frequency range are as follows:

China mobile:n41:2515~2675MHz, n79:4800~4900MHz;

China telecom: n78:3400~3500MHz;

China Unicom: n78:3500~3600MHz

What projects are RF emission indicators being implemented?

1、UE maximum output power

To verify that the error of the UE maximum output power does not exceed the range prescribed by the specified nominal maximum output power and tolerance.

2、Maximum Power Reduction (MPR)

5G NR allows the terminal to return the maximum transmission power appropriately under a specific modulation mode and a specific RB distribution mechanism, so as to adapt to the problem of excessive bandwidth occupied by those whose transmission index exceeds the limit brought by high-order modulation.

3、UE additional maximum output power reduction

The additional maximum power fallback is set by the network end based on the additional requirements of stray. The additional maximum power fallback and the maximum power fallback cannot be overlapped repeatedly, and the maximum value is taken as the fallback

4、Minimum output power

To verify the UE's ability to transmit with a broadband output power below the value specified in the test requirement when the power is set to a minimum value.

5、Transmit OFF power

To verify that the UE transmit OFF power is lower than the value specified in the test requirement.

6、In-band emissions

The in-band emission is defined as the average emission across 12 sub-carriers and as a function of the RB offset from the edge of the allocated UL transmission bandwidth. The in-band emission is measured as the ratio of the UE output power in a non–allocated RB to the UE output power in an allocated RB.

7、Spectrum Emission Mask

The spectrum emission mask of the UE applies to frequencies (ΔfOOB) starting from the ± edge of the assigned NR channel bandwidth.

8、Adjacent channel leakage ratio

Adjacent channel leakage power Ratio (ACLR) is the ratio of the filtered mean power centred on the assigned channel frequency to the filtered mean power centred on an adjacent channel frequency.
